Madison Bumgarner 2007 Bowman Chrome Draft Blue Refractor #BDPP61

2007 Bowman Chrome Draft Blue Refractor Madison Bumgarner

Having been born in Sacramento and raised in Fairfield, California, I have been a huge San Francisco Giants fan my whole life. Jack Clark was my favorite player when I was a youngster and later it was Will Clark, Dan Gladden, Kevin Mitchell, Barry Bonds and so on.

2010 was a magical season for us Giants fans as we FINALLY won the World Series. The first one for the Giants since moving to San Francisco in 1958. Take that Dodgers’ fans!! LOL!

Anyway, we have some nice young players on our Giants team and I think we can be there again in 2011! We have Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain leading our pitching staff and we have a solid catcher in Buster Posey. But I do hate the fact that we lost Juan Uribe to the freakin Dodgers!! YYYUUUCCCKKK!!! Why Juan?!! WHY??!! Any other team but the Dodgers would have been acceptable.

As an avid baseball fan, I also collect baseball cards. Let me tell you about a pleasant experience that I had late last year. I purchased a box of 2007 Bowman Chrome Draft baseball cards from Blowoutcards because I, like many collectors, was chasing the  Jason Heyward rookie card that was, and still is, selling like crazy on eBay.

Madison Bumgarner 2007 Bowman Chrome Draft Rookie Card Back

Well, I finally got the box in the mail and I couldn’t wait to tear into it! I did get lucky as I pulled the 2007 Bowman Draft Jason Heyward rookie card. But as I was getting close to the last packs in the box, and as a Giants fan, I hit the jackpot! I pulled a 2007 Bowman Chrome Draft Blue Refractor Madison Bumgarner rookie card #BDPP61 numbered to only 199 produced! One of these cards recently sold on eBay for $32. As you can see, I have included¬† two pictures of this beautiful card in this post for you to enjoy.

Madison Bumgarner is one of our young stud pitchers on our beloved Giants. This 21 year old kid played a huge part in us winning the World Series in 2010. His post season was simply amazing. Madison went 2-0 and pitched 20.2 innings and had an ERA of 2.18 against the Phillies in the NLCS and later the Rangers in the World Series. So, pulling one of his best rookie cards was an awesome experience for me no doubt! And I am hanging onto it! I believe this card could catch fire because Madison is a solid, young pitcher who should only get better for my Giants. With him, Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum, the San Francisco Giants could do it again in 2011!! Let’s believe fellow Giants fans!
