Is Kobe Bryant Tough As Nails Or What!? The Best Player In The NBA EVER!!
First, before I start this article I must say that I am a long time, die-hard Sacramento Kings‘ fan. So what I am going to say in this piece is not coming from some Los Angeles Lakers “Homer.”
After watching Kobe and the Lakers dump my Kings last night (March 2, 2012) by the score of 115-107, I can only shake my head. Why? Because Kobe Bryant may be the toughest NBA player to ever put on a uniform. This guy is tough as nails. First, Kobe Bryant is playing the game with a protective mask due to the hard foul put on him in last weekend’s NBA All-Star game courtesy of the Heats’ Dwyane Wade.
Second, he has a broken nose from the Wade foul and also suffered a slight concussion. Yet he goes out and plays like it’s no big deal. I mean, that thing covering his face has got to distract the guy right? Wrong! Kobe Bryant goes out and scores 38 points with 8 rebounds and 3 assists. I challenge any other NBA player to have a broken nose, suffer a concusion, put on a protective mask and go out and score 38 points.
In fact, the Lakers have played two games since the All-Star break and Kobe has score 31 points in a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the 38 points last night against my Kings. If my math is correct, that’s 69 points in two ball games for Kobe Bryant while wearing a “Phantom of the Opera” mask.
I used to hate this guy but in the last few years I have really started to admire what he has done in his 16 year NBA career. 5 rings, multiple scoring titles and more. He is now 33 years old and he is leading the NBA in scoring yet again so far in 2011-12. Kobe Bryant is averaging a league best 28.5 points per game. Just ahead of Kevin Durant, who is at 28.0 per contest. LeBron is third with an average of 27.7.
Speaking of LeBron James, he is having a great 2011-12 season, but he is no match overall with Kobe Bryant in my opinion. Kobe has the Championships to back his career up and LeBron has nothing like that…yet! LeBron has a great chance to finally break through this year and get his first ring. But he will still be four rings behind Bryant.
Like I mentioned at the beginning of this article, I am a long time Sacramento Kings’ fan. So please forgive me for feeling like a trader to my own team. I just had to comment on a great NBA player and his name is Kobe Bryant. Simply amazing!
